Are you looking for Instamojo review? Yes, you’re at the right place. I have been using Instamojo payment gateway for clients for the past two years.

In today’s Instamojo review guide, I’ll talk about the ins and outs of Instamojo and will tell you whether Instamojo is for you or not.

I’ll talk about each and everything you need to know about Instamojo to make an informed decision.

Let’s get started!

What’s Instamojo?

Instamojo is a payment gateway that lets Indian users sell products and collect payments online. Instamojo provides payment buttons, smart links and express Checkout for customers to purchase online.

Instamojo has recently launched Instamojo Premium, allowing you to create multiple shops and advanced e-commerce features. Instamojo lets you collect payments using credit cards, debit cards, UPI, GPay, Paytm, PhonePe and net banking.

Instamojo also provides advanced analytics to track your sales and growth over time. Instamojo’s WooCommerce plugin has widgets that you can add to WordPress websites to show the price of products and collect payments with Instamojo.

I’ll talk about Instamojo pricing plans later in this post.

Pros – Things I like about Instamojo

Pages load extremely fast

I have been using Instamojo for collecting payments and our users make payments effortlessly using Instamojo.

Instamojo Payment links, buttons pages load quickly and support all types of browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari and others.

Higher Payment Success Rates

We have tested a lot of payment gateways, but we noticed Instamojo has a higher payment success rate.

Beginner-Friendly Dashboard

Instamojo merchant dashboard is simple and easy to navigate. You can effortlessly track sales, refunds and payments.

It’s super easy to create payment links and buttons. All you have to do is enter the details and share the link to make payment.

Receive payments almost daily

Instamojo sends your payment the next day. Instamojo even has an instant payment feature, but you’ll have to pay extra fees to use that.

Zero set up fees

Instamojo is a freemium platform. You don’t have to pay any setup fees. You can collect unlimited payments using Instamojo.

API Integration

Want to integrate Instamojo payment gateway in your Application or on your existing online store? You can easily do it using Instamojo API integration.

100+ payment Modes

I feel that this is the reason why we see higher payment success rates with Instamojo. Let your customers pay via any payment mode – Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI, Wallets, Net Banking & more.

Payment App Store

Collecting payments and Tracking can be a hectic task. A dedicated app store of payment apps makes your life easier to manage things.

Instamojo app is available on Google Play Store. You can download it if you want.

Bulk Payment Requests

You can request bulk payments from customers by uploading a CSV on your dashboard.

Convenience Fee

If you turn on “Convenience Fee.” Your customers will pay the Instamojo fees. Leverage the power of convenience fee to use Instamojo for free. However I don’t like this feature, I wouldn’t recommend you to use this feature. You can mention the final price including everything. That would be a better strategy.

Staff Accounts

Delegate effectively and free up your time by providing your staff with selective access to Instamojo. So you can focus on the high-value tasks.

Custom SMS & Call Alerts

Set up custom missed calls and SMS alerts for incoming payments & more. This function might be useful for those businesses that are dealing with high-ticket items.

Invoicing & Accounting Solutions

Managing finance is very important. If you fail to do this, it can bring a lot of trouble. Subscribe to invoicing & accounting tools and make financial planning hassle-free.

Refunds & Resolution Center

Is your customer not satisfied with your products/services? You can easily refund your customer’s payments.

Cons – Things I don’t like about Instamojo

High per-transaction fees

If you use Instamojo free plan, you’ll have to pay 5%+ ₹3 charges on each transaction. I don’t want to pay 5% + ₹3 per transaction.

If you want to refund the per-transaction fees, you’ll have to buy Instamojo premium plan.

Then the per transaction will be reduced at 2%+ ₹3

Instamojo eCommerce features are not that great

It seems Instamojo is trying to compete with e-commerce giants like Shopify, Amazon and Flipkart.

That’s why Instamojo is focusing on eCommerce features more. I have checked Instamojo eCommerce pages; it doesn’t look great at all.

I can’t think of any other cons

Despite some disadvantages, I must say, Instamojo is a great tool for Indian users. It saves you from the hassle of collecting payments online. If you’re thinking of setting up your online business and looking for a reliable payment gateway? Instamojo is for you. You won’t regret it.

Instamojo support

Now let’s talk about support. Support is essential for every business. Instamojo provides email, chat and phone support.

Phone support is very basic. In most cases, you have to email them then your issue will be solved.

Overall, Instamojo support is okay. Not too great, nor too bad.

Instamojo Pricing

When I started using Instamojo back in 2016 and 2017, Instamojo didn’t have any paid plans. They were charging only per-transaction fees.

Over time, Instamojo has changed a lot. They have launched paid plans. Let’s discuss that.

If you want to use Instamojo store, Instamojo plan starts at Rs. 3,999/yr.

Instamojo’s highest plan costs Rs. 9,999/yr.

If you want to use Instamojo just for collecting payments, then the per-transaction fees will be 2%+3+ GST only.

If you use Instamojo payment links, you’ll just have to pay 3% + ₹3 even if you don’t subscribe to any paid plans.

Instamojo Alternative

Knowing any product or service alternative is a must in today’s time. If a company is not serving well, you can always go to that company’s competitors.

Instamojo’s closest and biggest competitor is RazorPay. RazorPay charges 2%+GST only.

But, the payment success rate is not higher in RazorPay. However, RazorPay is a good platform.

Instamojo Features

Initially, Instamojo was not offering a lot of features. But right now, Instamojo has so many payment gateways and eCommerce functions.

Online Store Builder

Don’t have a website? No problem. You can use Instamojo online store builder and start selling your products.

Custom Domain

Now you have the ability to connect and rebrand your online store with your brand name.

You can create professionally branded emails like with Instamojo.

You can access your online store in the mobile app as well. That’s a great feature.

Cart Abandonment & Recovery

When a user tries to make a purchase but for some reason, they don’t complete the payment. You can easily follow up with them and boost your online store sales.

In-built CRM tool

Instamojo CRM is very basic. You can’t expect a lot. However, it’s good for beginners.

Got a physical product? MojoXpress is for you. You can Ship products to more than 26,000 pin codes with mojoXpress.

Email & SMS campaign

Having your customer’s contact information is a must for any business. You can run promotional email and SMS campaigns.

Reseller Network

This is something I really like. Reseller network allows other people to promote your products on commission. Means you’ll have to pay only when they bring you customers. You can decide the commission percentage you’ll want to give.

Promo & Discount Engine

Are you looking to give an extra discount during the festive season and any special day? This discount feature comes in handy. It can even boost sales of your business if done right.
